Moving house is always a bit of a kerfuffle. I quite like the packing, being fond of sorting and organising. But it can be strange to see big changes in a place you’ve become so well acquainted with. Elaine likes the unpacking, finding new homes for stuff. But it can be hard having a blank canvas to work with, especially when you’re busy soupmongering.
As you may have guessed, we’ve moved in to our new kitchen – about two weeks ago now. It looks great. Emerald green floor, bright white soup-splatter-proof walls, a butternut orange office and a mezzanine staff hang-out area. Plus we’ve got our new cargo bike, which looks brilliant too. Now we’re just waiting for our electric assist to arrive. We’re all very excited.Elaine and Cheryl are souping it up non stop in the Mines each day. Meanwhile myself, Jani and newest recruit (plus soon-to-be artist in residence) Remony are serving up the goods at the cafe. We’re still working out our new system and work pattern, so bear with us. But it’s really lovely to see lots of you back since Easter. We love meeting our backers when you come in, using your Kickstarter soupons to buy the soup made in the kitchen you helped to fund.
So thank you 🙂 We can’t wait to see what the rest of 2013 has in store.
